Beyond the Contract: How Tez Gives Back to Local Communities

2025 Tez Team

Giving back to communities

At Tez Truck Plant & Civils, giving back is not a campaign — it is part of how we operate every day. Whether we are transporting material, repairing plant or completing civil works, we believe a contractor should leave more behind than a finished project.

For us, giving back means empowering people, supporting local suppliers and opening doors for youth.

1. Supporting Local Youth & Supplier Development

Our projects allow us to meet young people, small operators and aspiring entrepreneurs who simply need guidance, a chance or a supplier opportunity to take their next step.

  • ✔ Using local labour where possible
  • ✔ Sourcing small community-based suppliers
  • ✔ Offering mentorship to youth interested in transport or civil works

2. Small Sponsorships That Make a Big Difference

From fuel support for school teams to helping families during emergencies, we believe that even small gestures can shift circumstances. These moments help us connect with the communities we work in.

3. Empowering Through Skills Exposure

Young people often don’t get the chance to see real work environments. Wherever possible, we allow them to observe plant operations, trucking, small repairs or how civil projects are managed.

Even one day of exposure can change a young person’s understanding of what is possible.

Community Note

As part of our long-term goal to help fight unemployment, Tez supports initiatives like the Naadi Foundation — a youth empowerment movement focused on helping young people start sustainable businesses.

The vision is simple: if we can help create one entrepreneur, we create more jobs. Through mentorship, small support tools and business-start assistance, the foundation works to build more employment opportunities and stronger communities.

The foundation will soon launch at: www.naadifoundation.co.za

You can also read more about it on our main contractor site: naadi.co.za/foundation

4. Building More Than Roads

Every project is an opportunity to uplift — whether through training, buying locally or creating spaces where communities feel seen. Tez aims to be a contractor people trust both on and off site.

Final Thoughts

Giving back is not separate from the work we do — it is part of who we are. As Tez grows, so does our ability to support local communities, youth-owned SMEs and the next generation of builders, drivers and suppliers.

We believe that by empowering one person, you empower a whole family — and eventually, a whole community.
